The panoramic bay view of Labuan Bajo, just a view to catch from your hotel room terrace.. Once a fishermen village and fishing port in the western tip of Flores island, Labuan Bajo is now becoming the important city in the West Nusa Tenggara province. The presence of Komodo Airport just 3 km from city center and the rising importance of Labuan Bajo harbor as the hub port of ferries and various boats from Kupang, nearby islands, Makassar, Surabaya, Denpasar and Mataram. The main airlines of the country that flies to Labuan Bajo are Merpati Nusantara and Lion Air/Wings Air. Other airlines to mention are Sky Aviation, Trans Nusa Airline and some chartered airlines.
The city is just approximately 2 kilometer wide and 3 kilometer long stretched from north to south facing the beautiful Labuan Bajo bay where its location is ideal to catch the view of sunset, sunrise and of course the daylight view of the city. With the hilly and terraces contour, the city is also the perfect site for various hotels and accommodations that offer the beautiful view to the bay and the harbor from their rooms’ terrace.
From the city of Labuan Bajo, you can arrange the excursion to Komodo National Park, mainly to the Komodo Island, to the Rinca Island, and some other small islands nearby. Some full day or half day land excursions are also easy to arrange from here to Pantai Pedeh, Batu Cermin Cave and islets near the bay.
